Hopper Juan is making a box for his local chapter of Trout Unlimited to be auctioned off. I have choose to participate and came up with 56 flies that I sent out today. I urge you members to check it out today and if you have some spare flies to send them his way. Here is the link to his post on his blog. http://hopperjuan.blogspot.com/2011/03/up-for-challenge.html#comments Juan has made major contributions to the fly tying world and I full support him. Here are the 56 flies I will be sending. Not the best picture but I did send a full array of the flies that I am good at. I already sent them out before I checked the picture for quality. That was my bad. It was a mixture of hoppers, baitfish, dry flies, green drakes, leeches, nymphs, and emergers. Hopefully it helps his cause. Thanks Juan for supporting Trout Unlimited and your help in all the fly tying and fishing world.
Very nice contribution. I wish I had some free time to churn out something. Is the pattern on the lower right your leech? I'd love to see better pics of that.

ReplyDeleteIt is that one at the very bottom
i'm sorry it is at the bottom of this on. http://dustinsflybox.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-signed-my-first-contract-to-tie-40.html
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this new live feed visitor thing you got goin' is weird. I think it's saying I'm a visitor from "Beech Bluff" TN... I've never even heard of "Beech Bluff," and wherever that small hamlet may be... it ain't near Memphis.
ReplyDeleteI think it goes off zip codes but really I have no idea. It always shows when I visit and a couple of my good buddies it is correct. But again I have no idea how it works. I just put it on to see the cities and counties of my visitors. :)
ReplyDeleteI googled "Beech Bluff" and it's near Jackson, between Memphis and Nashville... so it's only like 90 miles off. Weird.
ReplyDeleteyeah but 90 miles is still not that close.
ReplyDeleteThat was sarcasm.
ReplyDeleteI know, but my medication helped me be oblivious to it :)
ReplyDeleteGreat looking flies, they will be greatly appreciated! What is the yellow and black fly on the right side of the picture? It looks like a stonefly...
ReplyDeleteGood for you for helping the cause. If I sent flies in Juan would lose his membership to TU.
ReplyDeletesanders, yes that is a golden stone. I did make a post before about it and I will find the picture
ReplyDeleteHa! Dustin, you rock! I will be running home, looking for the mailman on the way. I picked up a fly box today, but Ii may not be big enough! Thanks for all the hard work you have done for this. There is going to be a really lucky person who gets this box.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
