Favorite Outdoor food -- RIBS

Like  a lot of bloggers I have noticed the Outdoorbloggernetwork.com favorite outdoor/camping food. I have a ton that I enjoy but for outdoors RIBS have always been my favorite. I have been cooking these since I was twelve years old. The recipe has not changed and always turn out perfect. Nothing like eating some ribs and sitting in front of a nice fire.  I had my cousin from Idaho come and visit me and this was the perfect chance to cook them again.  Five hours cooking and they just fall off the bone. The worst part is having my 3 dogs sitting in front of the grill for hours just smelling and waiting that, maybe they might get a taste. Granted this might not be camping food but for outdoor cooking I could not think of anything else. Sorry I am not much of a writer nor do I have any snappy antidotes but this is my favorite and thought I should share.

If i had to choose a camping food it would be Miller Light.  Not quite food but goes well with camping and fishing.   :)

  1. Dustin, I think your ribs & Miller Lite make up for any imagined deficiencies. If it's not a family secret, I'm always looking for good rub and sauce recipes.

  2. Ribs, good.
Beer, good. (Although, I prefer Coors Light myself.)
I think you made a fine selection and if you cook it outside on a grill... and can take it with you for an outdoor adventure it's perfectly appropriate.

Cooking my second favorite tonight, beer can chicken. You take a chicken and sit it up, then take any canned food can and fill it with beer. Cover that up and let it steam with the beer. It is amazing!

  10. I don't care how messy these things are I still love them---and of course top them off with a cold Coors.
