What's next?

I was filling a prescription today and saw feathers in some girls hair. I know this is a growing trend but never noticed it would hit so close to home. About a week and a half ago I was at the bass pro shops and a lady bought over $600 in feathers and hackle. Of course my dog was very interested in it and wanted to give it a try. So this was the outcome.  Luckly my little girl was a good sport and wanted to play along.  Here was her feathers.  Long live this trend haha

If you try to take the feathers out she gets kinda violent.  This is the last thing you will see.

  1. Interesting how you changed the type of feather and now instead of blaming Steven Tyler for the trend, I think we should blame the Indians.

  2. You maybe on to something here. Dustin's hand tied flies and Pet fashion feather emporium.
    Trendy!

  3. Feathers should be found into two places and two places only.....on a bird or tied to a hook period! Hopefully this fashion trend fad will end soon.

  4. Looks like I am going to have to start raising some different types of birds, so that way I can sell feathers to fellow fly tiers before fashion forces the prices to sky rocket. I already can barely afford them:) Maybe a couple of years down the road when all this fashion goes out of style, they will donate them to a thrift shop and I will be able to get them for dirt cheap:)

  6. Hey Kiwi,
I just finished this Painting "Native Feathers" and want your opinion on weather or not she should have the feathers? I say yes. Who else is with me? http://stridart.blogspot.com/2011/04/native-feathers.html

  9. This just made my day -- your little girl is a good sport! Here in Boulder, CO the feather hair extension thing is getting ridiculous. But, it is giving a really good boost to business for the local fly shop!
