I am building a kevlar base for my HMH vise. Here is a sneak peak before I hopefully get it finished next week. It is blue kevlar and excited to get it done. I got it layed and the layers of resin now I just need to spray the surface, sand, and buff.
Oh and I knocked out a dozen killer caddis flies in 16 tonight. Kinda a slow tying day. Got some shots today and very lethargic because of it. So I am granted a lazy day
Wow, that's pretty trick. Looking forward to seeing the final product.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see the end results on that base, Nice looking bead caddis, I'd like to know more.
ReplyDeleteKevin,
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at the same kevlar sheet to build on a mandrel for a custom jigging rod. Do you feel it would add extra support and bounce in the butt section?
Dustin, you have a very interesting and educational blog. As a former fly tyer evolved into an online auctioneer on eBay, perusing your blog brings back fond memories of hours spent at the fly tying vise, trying hard not to sneeze in the midst of marabou feathers while tying 20 dozen black, olive, and brown woolly buggers.
ReplyDeleteYour innovative patterns and the success your friends/customers have had fishing them deserves kudos! Keep up the great work, Dustin, in both your flytying and your blogging.
