Just some flies buzzing around

I tied these a couple weeks ago and never blogged about them yet so here is my chance.

These were really fun to tie. I am going to try and hook up some nice trout on these here this summer on the henry's fork. They were kind of a challenge to tie due to all the colors in the foam. Also it was the first time I ever made my own eyes with mono.

Most of you don't know but I also blend my own dubbing. This is a black peacock blend I came up with that took me forever to come up with. Going to be tying some flies tonight with this to see how it goes and what I can come up with.

Nothing special here just wanted to try some new Zlon I got and never did a twisted body with them.  Going to send these to a customer in Salt Lake and see what he thinks.

If you don't like this post my Puppy will eat your face off :)  Well lick it off but I was close

  3. Really like the bees. Those will do well in my opinion on a lot species of fish.

    Home made dubbing rocks.

  4. Those bees can be a "code breaker" pattern. Cool tie.

  5. Very cool, did you color the bees, glue and cut the foam together, or cut those striped tubes in half? They turned out great w/e method you used. That dubbing looks really good, I was gonna make some, like we talked but never got around to it (yet). Nice work on that peacock, it looks awesome

  7. I tied these before I started stacking my own foam. These were made with rainey's bee foam and cut in half. I watched a youtube video where her son tied them and went from them. Now I stack my own foam using 3m super 77 to hold the foam together. Then I used a dowel I found at a thrift store that I cut the tubes out of. I can make 100 pieces for the price of 1 from rainey's. Thanks everyone for your comments! I can't believe I got 3 more followers from yesterday. My puppy thanks you :)
